This is my first-ever post, and I want to use to to explain what exactly I will be blogging about, and why.
First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I am a student at the University of Toronto.I have always been fond of Linguistics in general. I love reading, writing, public speaking, and learning new and foreign languages. I also have a deep passion for knowledge, and I believe it takes on many forms. Knowledge is not simply what one learns through “the system” and I feel that is a message I want to spread, so much can be learned through seemingly unconventional ways of teaching/learning. I also feel that moving beyond the classroom as an example is vital to gaining relevant knowledge in the field of International relations in particular.
With that being said, I feel that as of late, I have been taking a lot of ideas and opinions away from blogs, and I feel that blogs are today a very simple and attainable way to express and share knowledge. Thereby, I decided to pen (or type, rather) this blog! Before starting, I went through a multitude of different ideas, did I want to write about Fashion? Art? Science? There are far too many things I have a great passion for in this world. However, I feel that not enough young people today are passionate about, or express their thoughts on International Relations, and so I want to encourage them to make their voices heard, they are the voices of tomorrow.
International Relations is a sort of “umbrella term”, if you will. Underneath this umbrella lies a wide range of spokes, that represent subjects such as economics, politics, science, anthropology, and the list goes on. International Relations is a science, the science of how this world, in it’s entirety functions, from the base of the environment, to the upper-class elite that inhabit it at the “top”.
I will be covering everything from current news articles, to documentaries, and everything in-between. Many mediums are used to represent International relations, from the stories and reports themselves, to people’s opinions on certain issues and proposed solutions. I am more than open to hearing the opinions of others, and I do not believe that there is any such thing as a negative opinion, everyone was nurtured in different ways, and thus, all opinions deserve to be heard.
Without further ado, I commence this journey in writing!
